The six council members and mayor are all elected by the registered voters that reside in the Town. The Vice-Mayor is elected by the Council. The Council is elected every two years. The Mayor is elected independently, or separate from the Council. The person who carries out the day-to-day tasks of the Council is the Clerk of the Council. The Clerk records all minutes, maintains correspondence, acts as Treasurer of the Town and performs other tasks desired by the Council.
