Some highways in Buckingham County include U.S. Route 15, which starts in central New York and travels 794 miles to southern South Carolina, and U.S. 60, which starts in Virginia and runs 2,670 miles, ending in Arizona. Buckingham County has three Virginia primary highways: VA 20, VA 56, and VA 24. Route 20 starts in Dillwyn and runs north and ends in the Fredericksburg area, route 56 begins near Buckingham court house and runs northwest ending in Fairfield. Route 24 begins at Mount Rush (the geographic center of Virginia) and travels southwest ending in Stewartsville. There are numerous Virginia secondary highways in the county.
